Registration
To create an account in order to take advantage of SCADVS’ online member services, visit the register page.

When registering for an online user account with SCADVS visitors will be asked to create a Username, but not a password. A password will be auto-generated for them and emailed to the address they provide on their registration form, along with their user name and confirmation of their successful registration.

Once a visitor has a login/username and password they will be able to take advantage of SCADVS’ online member services, all of which are located at www.scadvs.org/home.

Passwords
To protect the security of your members all passwords are randomly generated by the server. When a visitor registers, they will not be asked to invent their own password. Instead, your server will automatically create a secure password for them.

Members can change their password by visiting the request a new password page. The server will generate a new, secure password for them. This new password will be emailed to the user almost immediately. But because the server randomly generates unique and secure passwords, users can not customize or personalize them.

Logging In to SCADVS
Once a person has an account they can take advantage of SCADVS’ online member services by visiting htwww.scadvs.org/home and logging in by entering their Username and Password in the Login area on the left-hand side. Users can also login by going direct to the login page.

Services Online for SCADVS Members
All the links to services are listed on the left-hand side of www.scadvs.org/home under the Member Services header.

Posts and Comments
All postings and comments made by users must first be approved by admin. Posts that your members make will not appear on the site until you go in to the
comments section under administer on the sidebar menu and approve the comments and posts that have been submitted.

When in the Comments section, you will by default see a list of all the already approved posts. You will in fact be in the “published comments” section. To see the list of posts pending approval, click the link that reads “approval queue”.

Once in the approval queue page, you will see a list of all the posts waiting to be approved. To approve them, click the little check box next to the title of each post you want to approve. Once you have checked all the posts to be approved, make sure the “Update options” dropdown menu at the top reads “Publish the selected comments” then click the Update button. This will publish all the posts you selected, which will have disappeared from the “approval queue” section only to appear in the list in the “published comments” section.

Subscriptions
All of the items available to members on the Membership Renewal page are controlled from the Administer menu, under LM PayPal > LM PayPal Subscriptions.

The LM PayPal Subscriptions page will list all the current subscriptions being offered. To edit or delete an existing subscription you must first open the detail page for that subscription. You open an item’s detail page by clicking on the blue number in the “subid” column for that item (the “subid” number is on the far left and represents the order the subscription is listed in on the Membership Renewal page).

For example, Affiliate Membership is the first item listed on the Membership Renewal page so the blue number in its “subid” column is “1”. Click on the blue “1” and a page will open with all the admin and user level details for Affiliate Membership. Now that the details page for Affiliate Membership is open, scroll to the very bottom of the page. There will be a link labeled “edit” and a link labeled “delete”. To make modifications to Affiliate Membership, click the “edit” link. If you wanted to delete Affiliate Membership, you would click the “delete” link.

To create a new subscription, scroll to the bottom of the list of existing subscriptions on the LM PayPal Subscriptions page and click the “Create New Subscription” link. This will open a page with a form for creating your new subscription item. When filling out the form, keep in mind that the server will only save about two lines of text entered in each field. So, keep it brief and straight to the point. Remember, even if the form lets you enter several sentences the server won’t necessarily save those sentences after you click the Create subscription button.

PayPal Settings
Your PayPal settings are entered in to the form on the lm_paypal page (navigated to using the sidebar: Administer > Settings > lm_paypal).

Creating Content
To create content, whether a blog entry or a new page, you’ll need to enter the Create Content section. You can get there using the sidebar navigation (“Create Content” is located after “My Blog” under Member Services). The server calls all items made by this section ‘nodes’ and automatically assigns each item a number after it is made.

Clicking this link will open the Submit Page page. Use the “Menu Settings” on this page to control where you want the link to the page to appear. ‘Title’ in “Menu Settings” is what the link to the page will say.
