California Association of Hospital and Healthcare Systems (CAHHS)
CAHHS serves as the parent corporation for multiple CHA subsidiaries, including Volunteer Services. Since it is a hospital membership organization, CAHHS Volunteer Services is not a member of AHVRP. It functions in four areas to meet its objective of supporting a favorable climate for the voluntary hospital system. The areas center on educational programs and services; creating awareness of industry issues and encouraging community support; volunteer program management; and promotion of appropriate standards of service.

Director’s Coordinating Council (DCC)
CAHHS-sponsored committee representing paid staff leaders of each CA Director of Volunteers Association including President, President-elect, Past Chair and Legislative Chair. The DCC Chair has a seat on the CAHHS Board of Trustees and also accompanies the COV Chair to the CHA Board of Trustee meeting.

Northern California Association of Directors of Volunteer Services (NCADVS) www.ncadvs.org
San Diego Association of Directors of Volunteer Services (SDADVS)
These three CA personal membership associations were established under AHVRP to promote hospital volunteerism and professional development of paid staff. Each association is affiliated with AHVRP and therefore is required to have a percentage of members who are also members of AHVRP.

Committee of Volunteers (COV)
CAHHS-sponsored committee which serves as the essential link between auxiliaries, volunteer groups and area councils throughout the state. The COV has helped in the formation of area councils to establish links of communication between hospital volunteer groups on a local basis. COV members are assigned by the chair to act in an advisory capacity to the council groups within their region. Area Councils serving Southern California include:

Orange County Council (OCC)
Southern Inland Council (SIC)
San Bernardino Council (SBC)
Tri-Valley Council (TVC)

Directors of Volunteers In Agencies (DOVIA)
"DOVIA" is the generic name for "Directors of Volunteers in Agencies". These are associations of leaders of volunteer programs who meet regularly to exchange information and ideas, host workshops and speakers, and plan collaborative activities.
